ELF has built an endowment to provide grants from its earnings. 100% of the earning will serve one purpose; to make possible innovative, hands-on learning programs which otherwise would not be funded by local school budgets.
The foundation is autonomous, and thus not subject to influence from any school, any municipal department or any civic group.
A "blind" review by a volunteer panel is used to determine our grants, called Learning Enhancement Grants. Applicants may include faculty, support services and staff. They are required to encompass some aspect of science, English, math, technology, social sciences or the arts in their proposal. Proposals must be for higher learning which otherwise would not be possible to provide for our local students.
